His story

James A. Bergeron is a fifty-year-old writer, queer single dad, and full-time roofing foreman based in Vancouver, British Columbia. For over two decades, he’s kept a roof over other people’s heads while crafting the kind of stories that blow the damn ceiling off.

With a son now grown, James finally permitted himself to chase the stories that had been brewing for years — the raw ones, the loud ones, the ones no one else dared to tell. Whether it’s courage or just a big-ass mouth, James has always has the guts to speak up and stand out when it counts.

He studied screenwriting at The Vancouver Film School and film production at InFocus Film School, where he sharpened a voice that’s cinematic, character-driven, and laced with unfiltered truth.

His Vision

After finishing Season One of Black Gurlz and Gay Boyz — an eight-episode queer crime drama — James adapted it into a series of eight novellas, each a standalone story connecting to the overarching narrative. Set in 1999 Windsor, Ontario, the series is a fast-paced, darkly funny ride through sex, drugs, betrayal, and queer survival, written for anyone who’s ever had to fight for their joy.

This is working-class storytelling with bite,  flair, and one hell of a heart
