Ronnie (Rhonetta) Black - Ronnie is Dee's fifteen-year-old younger sister. She is initially depicted as a typical teenager, but her life takes a dark turn after she and Lashawn accidentally cause a fire that severely damages their house and injures their parents. This event leaves her burdened with guilt and feeling "hopeless". She discovers Dee's hidden pills and begins selling them at school, developing a newfound confidence and a desire to be accepted by an older crowd. Ronnie struggles with the moral implications of her actions, especially after the red pills cause severe adverse reactions in partygoers, including her friend's younger brother, Zack, who overdoses. She attempts to break free from Tommy's influence, but he blackmails her and forces her into servitude. Ronnie's relationship with her mother is strained by Agnus's constant criticism and lack of trust. She finds solace and support in her friendship with Lashawn, who consistently tries to guide her towards a safer path. Despite her defiance and attempts to appear "tough," Ronnie is ultimately a frightened young girl caught in dangerous circumstances.
